Commissioned Animation 018 WIP: UPDATE 01
Awright, awright. Damn, it's been a month since I've posted anything here. So sorry for being idle. (シ_ _)シ
Ongoing and Pending Commissions make me real busy, but then I need the motivation and strength to focus, speed up and get back on track. My depression and anxiety is overcoming my better judgment, my inspiration to create and ability to face reality. So I decided to post WIP updates again to encourage myself to continue on. ୧(๑•̀ㅁ•́๑)૭✧
So here's an update of a long overdue commission that I've been working on for months already. Yeah, I getting so slow. (T▽T)
Byleth is already done. Base colors, first shadings, second shadings, highlights, soft shadings and soft lighting effects are all completely animated. However, I need to fix some shadow animations.
Here's how I work. The image above shows what's inside each body part of a character, in this case, Dimitri's right upper arm. Each piece of color (base, shading and highlight) are actually movable shapes broken down into Layers. I added a highlight on his right upper arm which is trimmed by a "Masking" or Mask Method.
The shapes are animated using the Tweening technique. This is the most tedious part of the process, because shapes tend to break most of the time when animated and I need to edit or fix each shape movement per frame. (☍﹏⁰)。
Ahh, my favorite part of the male body. The fuckable- err, I mean loveable ASS. ٩(ˊᗜˋ )و
I love how Byleth's ass turned out, but there's a part of his hip where I notice a "break" on the shading. The are also shading "breaks" on his elbow and on Dimitri's arm. They all NEED FIXING.
For Dimitri, I need to add the rest of the shadings especially, on his hair, robe and fur coat that hangs above his shoulders. I will need to add highlights, soft shadings and soft lightings on his body and fix the remaining shading animations.
Well, here's two more images that show the breakdown of moveable, rigged body parts, in this case, Byleth's hair and ass. Hair is the hardest due to having so many strands to animate while the ass is the easiest, since all I have to do is make it bounce or jiggle.
Now we proceed to Test the Animation.

I'm quite satisfied with the result but I need to clean the shadings that "break". For some odd reason the "breaks" become visible when animation is rendered to play as a loop.
Anyways, once I'm done with the shadings, highlights and clean up I can finally proceed to paint the background. I wanna wrap this up before October so I can proceed to my next pending commissions. (⊙ꇴ⊙)
